Volunteer Opportunities
Columbia
River Fire & Rescue requires that all members be trained before they are
allowed to respond. To accomplish this, the District participates in spring
recruit academy with other Fire Districts in Columbia County. We will accept
applications all year round but we hold them until the spring training session.
Usually the Fire District’s will advertise in the local newspapers, as recruit
academy dates are set. Each District has specific minimum requirements for its
volunteers but as a rule you must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid
and insurable driver’s license, most districts have some sort of residence
requirements where you must live, work, or be able to respond from within the
District boundaries.
